Week #8 Blog – Sun Tzu and Information Security

In an article by Sean Inman, dated October, 13, 2009  shows the parallels betweenhttp://www.infosecisland.com/blogview/1425-The-parallels-between-Information-Security-amp-Sun-Tzus-The-Art-of-War.html Information Security & Sun Tzu’s-The Art of War”

What I think Sun Tzu is saying is that organizations cannot be afraid. It takes courage to make good business decisions as well as decisions regarding information security. It’s about caring about both about the organizations as a whole and its clients. Fear is good thing. Without it, you cannot be courageous. If you go in thinking you can’t win then you won’t win.  That’s what I think Sun Tzu meat when he said ” If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.
